Katherine (Katie) Dievendorf is an Estate Planning and Elder Law attorney who is committed to providing a personalized experience for her clients. She focuses on building relationships with clients by listening to their unique concerns and goals. Katie provides a range of trust and estate services for clients, including estate and long-term care planning, trust administration and estate administration, business succession planning, and tax planning and returns.
Katie advises clients on Trust and Estate planning, including lifetime documents like Power of Attorney and Advanced Health Care Directives. She counsels clients on various trust structures including Medicaid Asset Protection Trusts, Revocable Living Trusts, Supplemental Needs Trusts, and Irrevocable Trusts. She also works with clients on the administration of decedent estates, including both trust and probate estates, handling all aspects of administration, including sale of real estate and other assets. Katie brings compassion and empathy to this sensitive area of practice.
Katie works with our tax and corporate practice to provide a holistic and comprehensive approach to estate planning and succession planning for small business owners, so that business and personal planning objectives are aligned, tax planning is incorporated into all aspects of the plan, and small business owners are best positioned to maximize the value of their hard-earned business assets. Katie also advises clients on business formation and choice of entity. She has experience in tax preparation, including preparing forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120s, 706, and 709.
Katie started her career in New York State at Ettinger Law Firm where she focused on Medicaid Applications, Estate Planning, and Estate Administration. During that time, she earned an LLM in Estate Planning and Elder Law. Katie made the bold choice to open her own solo practice in Delmar, NY where she focused on Estate Planning and Elder Law, Real Estate, Small Business Transactions, and Tax. While in private practice, Katie earned her LLM in Taxation.
Katie lives in Delmar with her husband, two children, and two rescue dogs. She is an avid exerciser and is a certified personal trainer, yoga teacher, and pre & postnatal exercise specialist. Katie is also a member of SAG-AFTRA.
