Estate Planning
An estate plan puts your wishes in writing and gives the people you trust the legal authority to carry them out.
Without one, state law makes those decisions for you and the results may not reflect what you actually want.
The process does not have to be overwhelming. It starts with a conversation about who you are, what you have, and what matters to you. From there, we work with you to put the right plan in place and make sure they work together with all the pieces of your life.
A well-rounded estate plan is unique to each person’s circumstances, but typically includes some combination of the following:
A Last Will and Testament setting out how you want your assets distributed
A Trust that is appropriate for your goals
Estate Tax Planning
A Power of Attorney authorizing someone to manage your finances if you cannot
A Health Care Proxy designating someone to make medical decisions for you
A Living Will expressing your wishes for end-of-life care
A Final Disposition of Remains plan detailing your wishes for your body and any services when you pass
With a team well-versed in the complexities of tax, we are equipped to address any estate tax minimization concerns. We also work with accountants and financial planners to coordinate the legal and financial sides of your plan, including strategies for limiting estate taxes and making charitable gifts in a tax-efficient way.
Predictable options begin with a conversation.
Tell us what is in front of you. We will help you understand your options and what each one involves.
